ITT/E Qualifications Register
All further education initial teacher education (FE ITT) provision for the FE and skills sector in England has to meet the Secretary of State’s requirements which relate to the professional standards published by Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK).
The ITT/E qualifications register replaces the paper based Further Education Initial Teacher Training/Education (ITT/E) qualification endorsement process, previously operated by Standards Verification UK (SVUK), with a lighter touch quality assurance system.
Those qualifications that meet the required standards will be placed on a register maintained by the Institute for Learning (IfL). Qualifications placed on the register will be accepted by the IfL as the starting point for professional formation leading to Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or Associate Teacher Learning and Skills (ATLS) status.
The ITT/E quality assurance process
All ITT/E qualifications currently endorsed have been moved to the online register of approved ITT/E qualifications. This work has been undertaken by IfL to produce a fully searchable online register of ITT/E qualifications.
In order to remain on the register, all Awarding Organisations (Awarding Bodies/Higher Educational Institutions) will be required to complete an annual self declaration evidencing that their qualifications fully examine and test the most current version of the teaching standards and adhere to the relevant guidance.
IfL will be writing to all those Awarding Organisations that previously registered to request that they login to their online record (login details will be forwarded to the registered contact) and check and update their details before making a self declaration.
New Awarding Organisations will be required to complete a full self declaration return.
